Edinburgh Scenes

Edinburgh and Glasgow fine art prints

Much of the stunning architecture of the medieval Old Town dates back to the 16th century and is now accurately captured by Athol, in 8 incredibly detailed architectural watercolour Cityscapes, as it appears today in the 21st century.

In 1995 Edinburgh’s historical Old Town was inscribed as a World Heritage site and in 1999 became the home of the new Scottish Parliament.

Glasgow Scenes

Edinburgh and Glasgow fine art prints

Glasgow was described by the author Daniel Defoe in 1723 as "the beautifullest little city in Britain", the environment of which he spoke remains today and contributed to the decision to make Glasgow the City of Architecture and Design in 1999.  Two famous scenes display George Square and the River Clyde, at present.

About the Artist - Athol J. Pirie

Athol has lived and worked most of his adult life in Scotland as a Graphic Artist, developing his own style on a broad range of commissions. His earlier years were spent in London in the sixties, improving his skills as an illustrator. It was during this period that Hogarth’s engraved scenes of London influenced his style of architectural drawing. His work has been reproduced in America, Australia, New Zealand and Africa, although it is only recently that he has concentrated on detailed watercolours of Edinburgh & Glasgow.

Representing unique mementos of Edinburgh & Glasgow, these would make an ideal gift for anyone connected to either beautiful, ancient Scottish city or perhaps simply an admirer of their magnificent architecture.

Prices from £19.99 + £3.00 worldwide postage.
